Insulation

Stop Ice Dams Where They Start Do you have ice dams?

Does it feel colder than it should be in your home during the winter months, or is your home too warm during the summer even though the AC is cranked up?

These can be symptoms of not having the proper amount of insulation. Building code in 2020 suggests R-44 (or about 12” – 15”) of attic insulation be present in a home to provide the adequate amount to prevent issues such as ice dams.

It’s estimated that 90% of homes have below the proper amount of insulation. Not enough insulation is a contributing factor to ice dams forming on a home and also adds to higher then necessary heating and cooling bills.

Adding the proper amount of insulation can shave 10 to 50 percent off your heating bill. It is not necessary to remove any old insulation. New insulation can be added right over the old to build up to the proper R-44 amount.
